Expo 2020 Dubai, now postponed until 2021, is the first world expo to be held in the Middle East. It will include a curated programme of large-scale public art commissions by international and UAE artists. Some of these public artworks will remain as permanent fixtures for the Emirate of Dubai. This public art programme is curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh. UreCulture have worked with Tarek Abou El Fetouh and Expo 2020 Dubai to develop the public art commissions framework; advise on specialist practice and policy relating to public art; prepare and negotiate all of the contractual agreements with the artists, working closely with the Expo Legal Department; as well as working on the overall budget and project planning.
