TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary EcoSocial Impact Reports
TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary is an international art and advocacy foundation created in 2002 by the philanthropist and collector Francesca Thyssen-Bornemisza. TBA21 is based in Madrid, with projects in Venice and Cordoba, it stewards the TBA21 Collection and its outreach activities, which include exhibitions, educational offers, and public programming and TBA21–Academy is the foundation’s research center.
UreCulture has partnered with TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, TBA21 Academy, and OceanSpace to develop innovative case studies of the ecological and social impact of the TBA21 Collection and its commissioning processes. Using the European Commission’s European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) as a general approach and framework, we created EcoSocial Impact Reports that reflect both regenerative and negative impacts across environmental and social dimensions. The first two TBA21 EcoSocial Impact Reports were developed for Claudia Comte’s series of sculptures and the Ocean Space exhibition, Re-Stor(y)ing Oceania. The TBA21 EcoSocial Impact reports are an example of how art institutions can embody regenerative leadership through culture-based action
