Nicky Ure is the Managing Director of UreCulture and has 15 years’ experience working for high-profile arts and culture institutions and public-sector bodies in the Gulf region and Europe. For over 3 years her work has focused on supporting the culture sector to become a leader in regenerative sustainability, working with museums, artists, galleries and NGOs. Nicky is a founding member of Gallery Climate Coalition Spain, and has been invited to speak on sustainability in the arts at the Art Business Conference at Art Dubai 2023, Central Saint Martins (London), Campus Art Dubai by Dubai Public Art and the Instituto de Empresa (Madrid).

Nicky worked at the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi from 2008 to 2015, where she was Director of Programmes Department (Culture). Nicky  contributed to the development of the strategy and organisation design of  the Culture Sector of  DCT and planning for the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National  Museum,  Abu Dhabi Art, the exhibition centre Manarat Al Saadiyat, among various other large-scale cultural programmes. Before moving into the culture sector, Nicky was a banking lawyer at UK law firm Simmons & Simmons.

At UreCulture her clients include France Muséums/Louvre Abu Dhabi, TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Expo2020 Dubai, Mohamed bin Zayed Raptor Conservation Fund, Oliver Wyman, Manal AlDowayan, National Geographic Society and others.

Nicky holds an MA Hons. from the University of St Andrews, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law, London and a Certificate in Business Management Sustainability from the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
