Three ambitious museum projects were conceptualised as ideas in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 2007 for the island of Saadiyat. In 2017 the first one of these museums opened, the Louvre Abu Dhabi. Nicky Ure was part of the team that managed the museum concepts and business planning process for Louvre Abu Dhabi, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi and Zayed National Museum from 2008 to 2015. This involved working with the museum partners Agence-France Museum, Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and the British Museum, in relation to contract deliverables, business planning workshops and the organisation of pre-opening exhibitions. Work on the Saadiyat Museums also involved much wider strategic initiatives relating to the development and upskilling of cultural human capital, as well as targeted audience work.
